REFLECTIONS
Experience - This typography course was an eye-opening experience for me. From the first to the last assignment, everything was new and I learned a lot under Mr. Vinod's guidance. I was first introduced to the ePortfolio and learned how to design it properly I find true pleasure in organizing things in a clear and structured way, so creating an ePortfolio was a rewarding task for me. It took time and patience, but I am pleased with the result.
I also learned many skills throughout the course. One of the highlights was learning about digital typography and experimenting with such design tools. It was fascinating to see how shapes and elements come together to create a cohesive typeface.
The feedback I received from Mr. Vinod throughout the course was incredibly valuable. His comments helped me improve my work and deepen my understanding of typography concepts. I also discovered new tools and techniques, such as creating digital fonts and experimenting with typography
Observations - One important observation I made was the need for effective time management.Without proper planning, it would be difficult to complete everything on time. I allocated enough time for each task and stuck to the schedule, which helped me to stay on track and avoid last minute rush. Thanks to this approach, I was able to hand in all the work on time.
Another important observation was how valuable the extra reading and research during the course was. Mr. Vinod stressed the importance of studying books on typography, and I found that it really improved my understanding of the subject. By studying various sources, I was able to better understand design concepts and apply them to my work. Documenting my findings also helped me to retain the information and refer back to it when needed.
Conclusions - I found that research was a crucial part of the process. Without it, it would have been difficult for me to know where to start and what direction to take. Through research, I gained insight into how professional designers approach typography, which gave me fresh ideas for my assignments. I also found that the more research I did, the more confident I became in my design choices.
Mr. Vinod's constant support and feedback really helped me identify areas for improvement and sharpen my skills. His advice has been invaluable and I now feel more confident in my ability to approach typography projects with a clearer understanding of the process. I look forward to applying what I've learned to future design work.
